Dear readers, listeners and supporters,
It has been a while since I last reached out in December, and so much has shifted and bloomed in the first few months of this year. I wanted to open a quiet window today and catch you up on the journey.
Here is what has been happening since we last spoke:
NEW MUSIC
I have been busy at the piano, pouring different moods and seasons into the world. Since the start of the year, I’ve released four new solo piano singles:
1. “Quiet Morning Hours” ☕
(listen on Spotify here and on Apple here)
2. “Light Travel” ☁️
(listen on Spotify here and on Apple here)
3. “Spring“ 🌱
(listen on Spotify here and on Apple here)
4. “The Shape of Silence” 🤫
(listen on Spotify here and on Apple here)
Each of these holds a little piece of my world lately—from those cherished, quiet moments before the day starts, to the shift in seasons. They are all out now and waiting for you on your preferred streaming platforms.
HONORED AT HOME
I was deeply touched to find out my work was nominated for two major Latvian music awards this year:
- Zelta Mikrofons: A nomination for Best Album Design (for the album “Lightkeeper” – featuring stunning artwork by Latvian artist Linda Valere 🤍).
- GAMMA Awards: A nomination for Artist of the Year in the Instrumental Music genre.
To have the music recognized in this way by my home community means more than I can say.

A WEEK OF SILENCE IN VISBY
In the midst of all the noise, I was fortunate enough to spend a beautifully immersive week at the Composers Residency in Visby, Gotland (Sweden). Being surrounded by the sea, history, and total creative freedom allowed me to breathe, think, and start sketching out what comes next.

NEXT STOP: NEW YORK CITY & TRIBECA!
Finally, I received some of the most wonderful, surreal news. Couple of years ago, I composed the original soundtrack for a US podcast called “FOR THE SAKE OF THE CHILDREN” (directed by the brilliant Joe Sill) – the science fiction audio-drama with mystery elements. I just found out that the podcast has been officially selected for the Tribeca Film Festival this year!

Because of this, I am officially packing my bags and heading to New York City this June 🗽🤩.
🎹 A quick question for you…
Since you are a part of this journey and my loyal supporter, I wanted to ask for your help. Have you been to New York, or do you call it home?
If so, can you recommend anything I shouldn’t miss? Specifically, I have a little dream: I would love to find a cozy café or a space with a piano where I could just randomly pop in and play a couple of my songs. If you know of a hidden gem, a local favorite, or an open-key spot in NYC, please reply to this email and let me know!
Thank you, as always, for listening and for making space for my music in your life.
With love and gratitude,
Aija 🤍
